How to Play Retro Game Roms on Windows
Video games are always a great time, something we desperately need during our COVID lockdown. A few years back I wrote about how to play retro games on Mac as well as ways to patch games so that they play the most popular ROM hacks such as Grand Poo World and Invictus. Step 1: Download and Install RetroArch

To create ROM Hacks, Patch ROMs
Retro game hackers form an integral part of the retro scene. The legendary Super Mario World hackers Juz King and Barbarous Kings use Lunar Magic, to transform the classic Super Mario World in amazing new “Kaizo”. FloatingIPS requires just three things which are: the file that is that needs to be patched (bps), the ROM it is to be applied to, and the output name.
This is the method you use to patch your games. There are many other options for customizations like adding a replay system to your patch.
Controls
Controls are actually the easiest part of playing games on Windows. Most emulators will allow you to utilize the keyboard as a controller. There are many USB controllers that are able to provide the same input experience as the native controller.
My passion for games on video and the software engineering field is what makes emulators as well as ROM hacks, game patching so fascinating.
